The problem we solved
Indian clinic billing has three flavours of pain: GST rates that differ per service (0% consultation, 18% diagnostic), partial payments that the receptionist tries to track in a notebook, and reconciliation at month-end against UPI settlement reports.
We modelled invoices as a state machine (DRAFT → ISSUED → PARTIALLY_PAID → PAID, or CANCELLED) and made every payment recording atomic with the balance update — no chance of receiving cash and forgetting to apply it.
What's in the box
Per-clinic service catalogue
Admin sets up the menu: Consultation (₹500, 0% GST), ECG (₹200, 18%), Nebulization, Follow-up. Receptionist picks line items from the catalogue when creating an invoice — never re-typing prices.
Per-item GST + auto-totals
Each line carries its own GST rate; subtotal, GST amount, discount, total are computed server-side and verifiable line-by-line. GSTIN appears on every issued invoice. No "please verify the total" embarrassment.
Partial payments
Patient pays ₹500 of an ₹800 bill in cash, the rest by UPI next visit. Both go on the same invoice, both recorded with method + reference + timestamp. Balance auto-updates atomically with each payment.
Receipt + invoice PDFs
Issued invoice = legal document; we generate an A5 PDF with the clinic GSTIN, line items, payment history, and a notice. Shareable over WhatsApp. Re-printable any time.
Today's revenue summary
Doctor + Admin see today / this-week / this-month revenue with outstanding amounts due. No spreadsheets, no end-of-day reconciliation jam.
Why this matters for an Indian clinic
Cash-handling is the #1 friction point at the front desk. A receptionist who can finalise an invoice in 30 seconds, record a UPI ref, and print the receipt — without leaving the patient at the counter — is a happier receptionist.
And when the CA asks for last quarter's revenue breakdown, the answer is a single CSV export. No reconstruction.
