Getting started
Onboarding, first patient, training.
How long does it take to onboard a new clinic?
Most clinics are live in 3–5 business days. That includes service catalogue setup, user accounts, doctor templates, and a 45-minute walkthrough for reception and clinical staff. We do the heavy lifting; you approve.
Do you charge for setup or training?
No. Setup, training, and bulk data import are included in every paid plan. We'd rather you start successfully than nickel-and-dime the kickoff.
Can a small single-doctor clinic use MedDeskOS?
Yes — the Starter tier is free for up to one doctor and 100 patients, so solo practitioners can run on it indefinitely. When the practice grows, you move to Clinic or Scale.
Do staff need formal training to use it?
Reception and clinical staff usually need a single 45-minute session. The UI is designed for non-technical users — Hindi/English toggle, large tap targets, no jargon. Detailed task guides live at /docs.
Pricing & contract
What you pay, when you pay, how to cancel.
Is the price per doctor or per clinic?
Per doctor on the Clinic and Scale tiers, billed monthly or annually. The Starter tier is free for one doctor. See /pricing for the current rate card.
Are there contract lock-ins?
No. Monthly billing with no minimum term. Annual billing gets 20% off. If you cancel, we keep your data available for export for 90 days — no questions, no exit fee.
Do you accept UPI and corporate cards?
Yes. UPI, RuPay/Visa/Mastercard credit and debit cards, and NEFT/RTGS for annual plans. Invoices are GST-compliant and downloadable from the billing screen.
What happens if we don't pay on time?
We send three reminders over 14 days, then move the account to read-only — you can still log in, view patient records, and download data, but new entries are blocked. No automatic deletion.
Data, security & privacy
Where the data lives, who can see it, what DPDP means.
Where is patient data stored?
Inside India, on infrastructure with ISO 27001 + SOC 2 certifications. Database, backups, and logs all stay in-country. No cross-border data transfer.
Is patient data encrypted?
Yes. TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest. Sensitive identifiers (Aadhaar, ABHA) get an extra layer of per-column AES-256-GCM encryption with separate keys.
Can MedDeskOS staff see our patient records?
Only with your written authorisation, and every such access is logged in an operator-audit table that you can query. The default is no access — our engineers see schemas, not records.
How do we honour a patient's right-to-erasure request?
Admin → Patients → Erasure. One click redacts personally identifiable fields while preserving clinical-continuity records (anonymised). The DPDP audit log captures who requested it and when.
What's the data backup policy?
Nightly encrypted snapshots, retained for 30 days. Quarterly disaster-recovery drill. Restore SLA is 4 hours for the last 24 hours of data, 24 hours for older snapshots.
ABDM, ABHA & interoperability
Working with the National Health Authority's stack.
Does MedDeskOS issue ABHA IDs?
Yes. The receptionist can create an ABHA ID at the registration screen — same flow as creating a new patient. The ID is then printed on the prescription QR.
What if we don't have ABDM credentials yet?
MedDeskOS ships with a mock ABDM mode so your team can practise the workflow before NHA production access lands. Production credentials typically take 4–8 weeks; we'll guide you through the application.
Features & workflow
What the product does day-to-day.
Does it work offline?
Reception and clinical workflows degrade gracefully when the internet drops. Token issuance, encounter notes, and queue management keep working; changes sync when the connection returns. See /features/offline.
Can prescriptions be in Hindi?
Yes. The whole UI plus printed prescription templates are available in English and Hindi today, with Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Kannada planned for the coming quarters. Drug names default to generic + brand.
Do you check for drug interactions?
Yes. Each prescription is checked against a maintained interaction database before it can be printed. Severe interactions block the prescription; moderate ones surface a warning the doctor can override (with an audited reason).
Can we customise prescription and bill templates?
Yes. Letterhead, signature block, clinic logo, footer notes, language, and printed paper size are all configurable per clinic. Multi-branch clinics can have a template per branch.
Does it generate GST-compliant bills?
Yes. CGST/SGST/IGST split, GSTIN on invoice, HSN/SAC codes, and exportable GSTR-1 summaries. Works for clinics under composition scheme too.
Migration & support
Moving from your current system, getting help when stuck.
Can we import data from our existing EMR?
Yes. CSV import works out of the box for patients, services, and pricing. For more complex sources (Practo, EHRs, custom databases), our team handles the mapping during onboarding at no extra charge.
What if we want to leave MedDeskOS?
Every clinic owns its data. From Admin → Export, you can download a complete dump in CSV + FHIR JSON formats — patients, encounters, prescriptions, billing — at any time. We keep the export available for 90 days after cancellation.
What are your support hours?
Phone and chat are staffed 8 AM – 10 PM IST, 7 days a week, by support agents in India. Critical incidents (system down, can't access patients) have 24×7 on-call coverage with a 15-minute response SLA.
Is there a dedicated account manager?
Clinic and Scale tiers get a named account manager who knows your setup. Starter clinics share a pooled support channel — same response times, just no dedicated person.
